And yet, despite all this power, the suite remains generally very simple to use. Individual functions are easy to find; a good Help file will answer most questions; or if you really prefer the simple life, the program can be left to run most of these maintenance tasks entirely automatically, while you get on with more important things.

AVG PC TuneUp 2014 extends this mix even further with some welcome additions and improvements.

The "Clean Up" section's new Disk Cleaner can remove all kinds of Windows and other temporary files, including from iTunes and Windows 8 Store apps. A Duplicate Finder locates and removes unnecessary identical files, while the Browser Cleaner supports removing old data from 25 of the most common browsers.

UI changes

Start button and Snap Views
The first time you launch the desktop in 8.1, you’ll see the return of the ultra-familiar Start Button. It acts as a portal to switch between the desktop and Start Screen worlds, and it will only show on the Start Screen if you use a mouse to navigate to the lower left-hand corner. It replaces Microsoft's odd looking square tip from Windows 8, and for many will act as a familiar reminder of how to navigate Windows. But it’s just a button: Microsoft is not bringing back the traditional Windows Start Menu here.

Windows 8.1 allows for a lot more personalization across the board. You can now pick from built-in backgrounds that move and animate as you swipe, but there's also the ability to change the color scheme with a color picker that's a lot more flexible than Windows 8 ever was. But the real star of the show is the ability to set the desktop wallpaper as the backdrop for the Start Screen. You can now close the Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool program window. The flash drive, or other external USB drive you're using, now has the necessary files on it to install Windows 8.1 and is also properly configured to be booted from.

8. Boot from the USB device that you just created to start the Windows 8.1 install process.

How to Install Windows 8 Step by Step with Easy Tutorial

Step 1 - Place Windows 8 DVD in your dvd-rom drive and start your PC. Windows 8 will start to boot up and you will get the following screen with a rotating progress bar.

Step 2 - The next screen allows you to setup your language, time and currency format, keyboard or input method. Choose your required settings and click next to continue.

Step 3 - The next screen allows you to install or repair Windows 8. Since we are doing a clean install we will click on "install now".

Step 4 - Read the license terms and tick I accept license terms. Then click next to continue.

Step 5 - Choose the type of installation you want. Since you are doing a clean and a fresh copy of Windows, you need to click on custom.

Step 6- Select the Drive upon which you want to install windows. In this interface you 'll not find Drives name by alphbets like C, D, E or F drive etc. Their size 'll tell you the drive. Or you can use an easy way to identify that First drive (After the "system reserved" partition if "System reserved partition" is available) 'll be the C drive n then D,E,F and so on... So select your required drive upon which you want to install windows (Mostly we Choose C drive) and click on "Next"

Step 7 - At this stage Windows starts to copy files to your hard drive and begins the installation. This process might take a few minutes depending on your computer specification. Now is a good time to grab yourself a coffee Because you don't need to do anything Now. Just watch your System ;)
